Annual Required Training
Metropolitan Education District (MetroED) is committed to creating and maintaining an environment where everyone, students, staff, and the community feels comfortable, respected, and free from unlawful discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and abusive conduct.
To support this effort, all MetroED employees complete mandated training, identified by the State of California and individual position. To ensure compliance MetroED has adopted the Keenan SafeSchools web-based interactive and in-person courses. These trainings are designed to meet the requirements and help you understand your rights, responsibilities, and policies.
The Keenan online courses satisfy the California training requirements for most positions. Others are provided in-person training for compliance. You will be assigned online coursework based on your individual job description.
You are responsible for completing all mandated training on time. Mandated training is a condition of employment and is to be completed by the assigned due date. There are no exemptions or extensions for any mandated training.

If you find that the program stops or hesitates, please try the following steps:
- Make sure you are using a recent version of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari. If you have any pending updates they may need to be completed to move forward with training.
- Clear your browser's cache, which is typically located under your browser's history settings.
- It is possible that device-specific browser extensions and/or pop-up blockers may be interfering with your training. Try accessing the training from another browser to rule out this possibility.
