COVID GUIDELINES

COVID GUIDELINES

We follow the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) guidance for schools and CalOSHA guidance for California workers.

COVID home tests and masks are available for students and staff. Hand sanitizer is available in classrooms and offices. For questions, email covid@metroed.net.

There is no longer a mandatory five-day isolation period for students or staff who have tested positive for COVID-19 and are asymptomatic or feeling better.
  • Students and staff who test positive for COVID-19 and are not experiencing any symptoms may remain at work or school.
  • Students and staff who test positive for COVID-19 and are experiencing symptoms may return to school or work when they are feeling better, their symptoms are mild and improving, and they have not had a fever for 24 hours without using fever-reducing medication.
  • Masking requirements:
    • Students who test positive are still encouraged to wear a mask when around others indoors for 10 days from the time they test positive or until they have two negative tests taken one day apart.
    • Staff members who test positive must continue to wear a mask through day 10 per CalOSHA guidelines.
